Income by family type

Since 2005, income increased for all family types, except single mothers.

 

2016 median family incomes:

  • Were higher than in 2005 for married-couple families (with and without children).

  • Were higher than in 2005 for females with no husband or related children under age 18, males with no wife or related children under age 18 and males raising children with no wife

  • Did not differ from 2005 for females raising children with no husband.
