New Health Equity Timeline Contextualizes Health Disparities: Health inequities experienced today stem from histories that have impacted communities’ determinants of health. The new Health Equity Timeline features over 80 significant policies and events in King County that speak to the marginalization and resilience of systemically disadvantaged communities.
Exploring Firearm Injury in King County Using the New Emergency Medical Services Data Dashboard: Typically, gun violence data on hospitalization or death have long lag times between the incident and data release. A newly published data dashboard uses Emergency Medical Services (EMS) shows firearm injury activity and trends throughout King County to provide a unique opportunity to learn about recent firearm injuries in our community.
How Healthy is King County? In the midst of the tumultuous events of recent years, Public Health—Seattle & King County delves into the impact on health within King County. Through a comprehensive analysis, they uncover disparities among racial/ethnic groups and shed light on the emerging health consequences of climate change. The Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) not only presents vital health indicators but also echoes community voices by identifying pressing priorities, fostering a multilingual dialogue for inclusivity and action.
