Parents who were part of a couple were more likely to have regular emotional support with child rearing.

In 2011, parents of children younger than 18 years old were asked, “How often do you have someone that you can turn to for day-to-day emotional help with raising children?”

Parents who were not in a couple relationship – married or unmarried – reported less consistent emotional support with child rearing than those who are coupled.
